often the first choices they are presented with, but they are not sure what they want out of a door in the first place. certainly, the importance of saving money is always a consideration, but sacrificing the quality for a better price is often a poor move in the long run. getting an idea of the different qualities that each sliding door style provides erases the worry of not knowing which door is best for you. wood and glass sliding closet doors we can quickly notice that wood and frosted glass doors offer you privacy. for those people who associate glass as only see through, think again because they can be styled to look as clear or as opaque as you wish. wood of course is always going to offer you that solid and totally private experience. glass on the other hand will allow to stream into your room and add a more ambient atmosphere to your area. aside from privacy these sliding closet doors are generally very unobtrusive when opening and closing them. no more squeaky hinges! no more cheap pulls or too many panels to open and shut. sliding closet door costs keeping costs low will depend on how many individual doors you need. it is usually a cheaper investment option to pick sliding closet doors, wood and glass sliding closet doors that cover your space with as little additional hardware needed as possible. keeping costs low will depend on wide your individual space is. a regular 18” door spread over a 72” inch area will not be as cost effective as getting two 36” doors. as a rule of thumb, 18” doors take just as long to make as 36” doors, and also be aware that choosing a wider door will typically mean you hang it as a slider. reference: http://www.knrslidingdoors.com/custom-sliding-closet-doors/ mar 16, 2017 12:17 pm 0 notes lyme disease, and erupt usually between the ages of 17 to 25. while there are some exceptions to the age range provided, most individuals do develop their wisdom teeth between those specific age ranges. there are a total of four wisdom teeth that erupt through the gums in a normal patient. for a variety of reasons, many individuals notice that their wisdom teeth do not erupt through the gums as would anatomically happen. those reasons include: the wisdom teeth cannot enter because of the angle in which they are oriented, the patient’s mouth is too small, or the teeth are impacted in the jaw bone and unable to erupt. those are just a few of the reasons why surgical intervention by an oral surgeon might be necessary. thus, when an individual begins to experience pain in the specific areas that would indicate possible wisdom teeth pain they need to see a dentist to determine the origination of that pain and then be recommended for a specific treatment plan. as is indicated, it is recommended to be seen by a dentist every 6 months for a routine check up and cleaning, and during this time the patient can be monitored to determine if it is time to address their wisdom teeth before they begin having symptoms. once it has been established that the wisdom teeth are the root of the issue, and must be addressed, then the dentist will refer you to an oral surgeon to have the wisdom teeth removed . there are many ways in which the wisdom teeth can be removed, and these processes will be further discussed in detail from the oral surgeon in which the patient decides to visit; however, in this article the most frequent types of removal and what to expect will be discussed. as was discussed earlier, the reasons we remove the wisdom teeth is because of the following: the wisdom teeth are impacted in the jaw bone and are causing pain, the teeth are oriented at the wrong angle and thus will cause problems if they were allowed to erupt through the gum; and finally, the mouth of the patient is too small for the teeth to enter adequately. now, if one of these issues pertains to the specific patient, the dentist will refer the patient to the oral surgeon and the oral surgeon will determine the specific treatment plan. upon arrival to the oral surgeon, the patient will begin to give an overview of their health and personal information. included in this information will be the patients medical history both past and present, the surgical history, allergies to medications and foods, family history, social history, and present medications. once the oral surgeon receives all this information it allows him or her to adequately assess the patient and make sure the appropriate needs are addressed. at this time if the patient has any questions, those will be addressed. the oral surgeon will then discuss the different removal options. if the wisdom teeth are already erupted then the procedure will be an extraction of the already erupted wisdom teeth which is less invasive. however, if the wisdom teeth have yet to erupt and are stuck in the jaw bone, or are at an angle in which they cannot erupt this will require a more invasive procedure in which the oral surgeon will have to actually remove the wisdom teeth from the gums. if the wisdom teeth are present and just have to be extracted, then most likely the patient will be awake during the procedure and the gums will be numbed with novocaine; this is known as local sedation. if the wisdom teeth must be cut out of the gums and/or bone, then it will require an additional type of sedation. the oral surgeon will determine if iv sedation, or general sedation is indicated. if iv sedation is indicated, then the patient will not only be numbed directly into the gums with the novocaine, they will also receive iv sedation through their veins which will provide relaxation and the patient will remain drowsy, and may sleep for the procedure. if general sedation is indicated, then the patient will receive medication through their veins; or medication through a mask that will make the patient drowsy and they will sleep through the entire procedure, and be drowsy after the procedure as well. if the surgery requires the wisdom teeth to be cut out of the bone or gums, there will be sutures in the areas where the teeth were removed, and thus gauze placed to absorb the blood. these sutures are usually dissolvable and thus will dissolve within a few days. after surgery, it is best to follow the doctor’s orders and recommendations; this will ensure that the proper advice is given. the doctor will normally instruct the patient to have a driver post general anesthesia, to make sure the patient will not drive if still sedated. after surgery, each patient has different pain levels, but most people feel better around 3 days post surgery. you may need to let your mouth completely heal up to a few weeks after surgery. post surgery you will want to use an ice pack to help with the swelling and pain. eat soft foods and drink plenty of liquids. take the medication the physician prescribes. if the pain or swelling doesn’t subside or gets worse; or if you develop a fever contact your doctor immediately. do not drink from a straw; don’t eat hard or sticky foods; and don’t smoke. these are imperative to a fast and full recovery. if you have any questions or concerns call your physician immediately. reference: wisdomtoothpain.org oct 24, 2016 5:05 pm 0 notes dental implant options periodontists are dentists who specialize in treating periodontal disease. periodontists receive additional training in addition to basic dentistry education. simply put, periodontal disease is gum disease. gingivitis is the simplest form of periodontal disease and it left untreated, can result in the loss of teeth. what happens is that bacteria infect the gums, and they become inflamed and infected. if left to progress unchecked, the bacteria multiply and the gums become so infected they start to pull away from the teeth. the teeth can them become loose and may need to be extracted. a general dentist may be able to treat periodontal disease, but in most cases, it is best to allow a periodontist to treat the gum disease. there is a significant relationship between tooth and gum health and a person’s overall health and seeing a specialist gets you more comprehensive care. in cases of tooth loss, a dental implant may be an option for the patient. the tooth loss can be the result of disease or injury. often a dental bridge or denture may not be the best option for a patient, and a dental implant may fit the bill . an implant is a replacement tooth root to which an artificial tooth can be attached. the artificial root is surgically affixed to your jaw. the root is generally made of titanium. an artificial tooth is created and color matched to your existing teeth and then held in place by the new root. this tooth can be fixed (permanent) or removable. the loss of a tooth can be mentally devastating especially if the missing tooth is up front and noticeable. it affects a person’s self-image and confidence. a dental implant can restore a person’s self-confidence and improve their feelings about their appearance. there are some advantages to choosing a dental implant over dentures or other appliances. the advancements made in implants over the last several years have made them virtually indistinguishable from real teeth. there is no need to disrupt or alter the surrounding teeth which can create other issues including infection. speech and eating are easier with implants as opposed to bridges and dentures. there are no worries over dentures becoming dislodged or being loose so you can’t eat your favorite foods. also, dentures can become painful, rubbing on gums and making things uncomfortable. for those concerned with having a foreign object implanted into their body, there are holistic options for dental implants. the materials they are made from are chosen to create the least impact on the body. they are also selected to minimize long term effects on patient health. discuss the options with your doctor in san diego including the appropriateness of dental implants for your situation. though dental implants can be used in a number of cases, there will be some that call for another type of appliance to be utilized. as always, these decisions should be ones that you and your dentist make together after weighing all the pros and cons. more from dr. woods and her san diego dental practice at http://paigewoods.com/ jun 20, conditions that manifest themselves 15 to 60 years later. although asbestos was banned in the later 1970s, it can still be found in many houses and commercial buildings. us navy veterans, sailors, engineers, and construction workers have the highest risk of developing asbestosis, mesothelioma, lung cancer and other diseases caused by asbestos exposure. fortunately, there are ways to protect yourself and your family if you suspect you might have asbestos in your home. common sources of asbestos exposure the first thing you should do is to determine whether or not your family is exposed to asbestos (see asbestos testing & removal services ). this material can be found in thousands of products, including: vinyl floor tiles insulation materials automobile clutches and brakes heat-resistant fabrics walls and floors around stoves roofing and siding shingles roofing tar countertops attic and wall insulation fireproofing materials cement sheet adhesives boilers asbestos cement roofing decorative materials sprayed on walls hot water and steam pipes found in old homes most houses build between 1930 and 1950 contain asbestos. this mineral can be also found in patching compounds, textured paint, and wall insulation. damaged floor tiles ad insulation materials may increase your risk of asbestos exposure. since it’s not possible to identify asbestos-containing materials simply by looking at them, contact a trained professional. this step is particularly important if your house has damaged building materials, or you’re planning to make structural changes. an expert will collect samples for analysis and let you know what to do in case of asbestos exposure. how to keep your loved ones safe this product becomes dangerous only when tiny fibers are released into the air by disturbing asbestos containing materials. for example, this could happen during home repair, remodeling, or demolition work. materials in good condition will not release asbestos fibers. however, it’s recommended to check your house regularly if you suspect it may contain asbestos. look for signs of damage or wear, such as tears in the walls, abrasions, or slightly damaged floor. if you find anything unusual, seek professional help. repair involves either covering or sealing asbestos materials. statistics show that more than 1.3 million people are exposed to asbestos at work every day. if you work with asbestos, learn to keep your family safe. they could be exposed to asbestos fibers on your clothes and work equipment. be aware of consumer products containing asbestos. many everyday items, such as hair dryers, popcorn machines, crock pots, and ironing board covers may contain this material. to minimize your risk, check product labels carefully and replace old appliances in your home. if you suspect that your family has been exposed to asbestos, monitor their health on a regular basis. x-rays and other imaging tests can help identify early signs of lung cancer and mesothelioma. a simple way to reduce your risk is to stop smoking. this habit aggravates asbestos exposure and increases your lung cancer risk. jun 10, 2015 3:42 pm 1 note homeopathy at the
